From Here – Filmvorführung und Gespräch

FROM HERE ist die Geschichte von Tania, Sonny, Miman und Akim -Künstler*innen und Aktivist*innen aus Berlin und New York. Während in den USA und Deutschland Rassismus und Nationalismus zunehmen, stehen sie vor wichtigen Wendepunkten in ihrem Leben: Sie kämpfen um die Staatsbürgerschaft, gründen Familien und finden Raum für kreativen Ausdruck. Gefilmt über ein Jahrzehnt, begleitet der Film sie dabei „Zugehörigkeit“ neu zu definieren und zeigt nicht nur die Kämpfe einer jungen Generation, sondern auch ihre enorme Stärke.

Vorführung auf Deutsch und Englisch, mit jeweils deutschen und englischen Untertiteln.

Die Veranstaltung findet in Kooperation mit Heinrich-Böll Stiftung e.V. und MOSAIQ e.V. statt. MOSAIQ e.V. arbeitet rassismus- und machtkritisch und gibt marginalisierten Stimmen eine Plattform, sich in gesellschaftliche Diskurse einzumischen, diese zu hinterfragen und neu zu bestimmen.  Der Film ist Teil der Initiative with Wings and Roots, die Bildungsmaterialien, digitale Tools und Workshops zu den Themen Migration, Rassismus und Zugehörigkeit entwickelt und anbietet.

As racism and nationalism rise in the U.S. and Germany, they face major turning points in their lives: fighting for citizenship, starting families, and finding space for creative expression. Filmed over a decade, the film follows them as they redefine "belonging" and shows not only the struggles of a young generation, but also their tremendous strength.
